Donate My Weight Donate My Weight started with one premise:
The Plan Is- For every pound of weight I lose, I will buy a pound of food. At the end of my weight loss program, I will donate all that food to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania. Along the way, I will also try and get others to sponsor my weight loss by either pledging to donate a pound (or pounds) of food for every pound I lose or making a monetary donation to their local food bank.
Benefits to the Food Banks- Much-needed donations of food to help them continue their mission of providing meals to those less fortunate than you or me. Monetary donations will help them either purchase more food, equipment or take care of their operating costs.
Benefits to Me- There is no food or monetary benefit to me, 100% of all donations will go to Second Harvest Food Bank
Those pounds of food that I buy will also give me something that I can pick up and hold, to truly understand exactly how much weight I have lost. The real benefit to this whole program is priceless, read below.
Benefits to Everyone Who Participates- There is a tremendous benefit for everyone who sponsors my weight loss, donates money to the food bank or decides to start a similar program in their own community. It's a reward that can't be defined by money and one that will stick with you for the rest of your life.
Simply put, you will know that you made a profound difference in somebody else's life. Because of you, a meal will be provided to a Mother, Father, Grandparent or even a Child in need. There's no better reward than that.
